JSJ Panama 2026

EILEEN COPARROPA

The IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026 are not only exciting the young athletes preparing to experience them, but also those sports legends who once dreamed of seeing the Games held at home. Today, that dream is finally becoming a reality.

In an exclusive interview, Panamanian legend Eileen Coparropa, a three-time Olympic athlete and Pan American medalist, shared her excitement upon learning that Panama would host the 2026 Youth Games:
“I can’t believe we’re going to be hosts! I always dreamed of being part of Games in Panama, and maybe now I can be there—even if retired—but what pride and opportunity for the country, to showcase our athletes and everything we offer to the rest of the world.”

Regarding the new generation of emerging athletes who will shine in 2026, Eileen expressed great optimism:
“I feel super happy and full of energy because I know the athletes are learning and improving every day, not only in sports but also in life after sports.”

For her, these Games are much more than just a tournament:
“It’s the first step toward the Olympic dream—it’s entering the Olympic cycle to keep competing and maybe reach the Olympics in a few years.”

Before closing, she left a message especially for those who will live this experience for the first time:
“Enjoy the moment because it’s temporary. You’ll come, compete, have a great time, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. So enjoy it and do your best.”

Will we see her at Panama 2026?
“I’ll possibly be at the Games.”

And although she doesn’t say it directly, it’s felt in every word:
Eileen knows that Panama 2026 will be At Another Level.
