
In the heart of the city of Rosario, in front of the iconic National Flag Memorial, the transfer ceremony of
the South American Flame took place, officially marking the beginning of the journey toward the IV South
American Youth Games Panama 2026.
In an event filled with symbolism, music, and tradition, Rosario host city of the III South American Youth
Games in 2022 handed over the flame that represents the continuity of the region’s sporting spirit.
The ceremony was attended by the General Director of the Panama 2026 Organizing Committee,
Anamae Orillac, who took part in this historic moment on behalf of the host country.

She was joined by the Mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin; the Vice President of ODESUR and President of the Argentine Olympic Committee, Mario Moccia; as well as authorities from the Argentine Olympic Committee, municipal and provincial representatives, athletes, and members of various sports federations, all of whom witnessed an event that connects past, present, and future.
During the ceremony, the legacy of Rosario 2022 was highlighted. The Games brought together more
than 2,500 athletes from 15 countries and were recognized by ODESUR as one of the best editions in
history, due to their organization, social impact, and innovative format.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was the journey of the flame through Pasaje Juramento,
where athletes from Rosario protagonists of the 2022 Games participated in a symbolic relay that
represented the effort, dedication, and legacy now being passed on to Panama.
The ceremony concluded with the lighting of the Panama 2026 Games torch, officially sealing the
transfer of the flame and beginning its journey to the next host country.

The South American Flame will arrive in Panama on Friday, March 27 at 6:24 a.m., carried by the General
Director of the Games, Anamae Orillac. Upon arrival, it will be received by the Director General of
Pandeportes, Miguel Ordóñez, and the President of the Panama Olympic Committee, Damaris Young.
Subsequently, the delegation will move to Marcos A. Gelabert Airport, where His Excellency the
President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, will carry the lit torch during an official ceremony that will
mark the start of the flame’s journey on Panamanian soil.
From that moment on, the torch relay of the South American Youth Games Panama 2026 will begin,
starting in the province of Chiriquí and extending throughout the country as a symbol of unity, inspiration,
and national pride.
The IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026 will be held from April 12 to 25, consolidating
themselves as a platform for the development of new generations of athletes and an opportunity for the
region to experience sport… AT ANOTHER LEVEL
