TEAM PERU

Team Peru is preparing to face a new international challenge with a young, talented, and ambitious generation. With participation across multiple disciplines, the national delegation aims to make its mark and surpass its previous performances at this continental event.

Team Peru will compete with 141 athletes at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026. Peru will take part in a wide range of sports, including boxing, table tennis, badminton, triathlon, surfing, cycling, taekwondo, baseball, fencing, judo, aquatic sports, weightlifting, wrestling, golf, gymnastics, athletics, archery, and karate, showcasing the diversity and growth of youth sports in the country.

The delegation arrives backed by strong results in this competition: 65 medals in Lima 2013, 40 in Santiago 2017, and 45 in Rosario 2022, reflecting steady progress and the goal of continuing to rise.

Among the athletes to watch is junior world surfing runner-up Catalina Zariquiey, one of Peru’s top rising talents. Also standing out is swimmer Yasmin Silva, bronze medalist in the 200m butterfly at the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, and table tennis player Samuel Duffó, who has delivered strong performances in the U15 and U19 categories.

Many of these athletes will be experiencing a multi-sport event of this level for the first time, establishing themselves as the new foundation of Peruvian sports with their sights set on the future.

Peru arrives in Panama 2026 with excitement, talent, and a hunger for glory, determined to prove that its new generation is ready to compete and shine AT ANOTHER LEVEL.
