Argentina’s swimmers Agostina Hein and Matias Chaillou have been named the country’s flag bearers for the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.

Olympian Agostina Hein, born in Campana, Argentina, at just 16 years old already made her debut at her first Olympic Games in Paris 2024, where she competed in the 400m and 800m freestyle events. At the Asunción 2025 Pan American Junior Games, she reached the podium by winning 8 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze), as a member of Argentina’s national team, she will have the honor of carrying the country’s flag at the Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez Stadium in Panama.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Matias Chaillou has built an impressive collection of medals and has represented Argentina both nationally and internationally. At the World Junior Championships in Otopeni, Romania 2025, and at the National Junior Championships in Parque Roca, Buenos Aires, he won 5 gold medals and 1 silver. At the Asunción 2025 Pan American Junior Games, he earned 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal.

Argentina’s delegation includes a total of 250 athletes who will compete in 23 sports.

The South American Youth Games Panama 2026 will take place from April 12 to April 25, 2026, in Panama City.
