During a tour of the South American Village guided by Estheisy Villareal, Director of Operations, at Hotel Megápolis, national and international press were introduced to the South American home that will host the 15 delegations from the 15 participating countries in the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.
A new feature of these games is that all athletes will stay in the same hotel. The goal is to provide greater comfort and security for the athletes who will take part in the 23 sports disciplines to be held at venues such as the Luis “Matador” Tejada High Performance Center, Irving Saladino Sports City, Atheyna Bylon Combat Center, Amador Causeway, Cinta Costera 3, Rommel Fernández Stadium, among others.

The delegations will have access to laundry services, a dining area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a gym, entertainment areas, Safe Sport offices to provide immediate psychological support to athletes, bedrooms, and a space for the NOCs (National Olympic Committees) of the delegations from Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Curaçao, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Uruguay, Suriname, and Panama.
It is worth highlighting that the entertainment area will be managed by Panama’s Ministry of Culture, where educational talks will be offered.
These were the words of Inés Remersaro, president of the ODESUR Athletes’ Commission: “It is an opportunity that allows for a progressive transition toward high-performance sport at the senior level, rather than being a first experience at the highest level. It gives young athletes the chance to compete at the youth level, making the transition much more supported”.
During the tour, the delegations from Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Paraguay arrived at the South American Village to settle in. The last delegations to arrive would be Aruba and Suriname, completing the home that already hosts the main protagonists of the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, which will be At Another Level.
