Panama defeated Bolivia 2-1 and keeps its hopes of a medal alive in men’s futsal at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.
The team coached by Felipe Baloy settled the match within the first 20 minutes thanks to a brace from Thiago Chalmers, showing their best attacking form. However, Chalmers himself was sent off, forcing Panama to drop back and hold onto the result.
Bolivia responded and pulled one back through Sánchez, applying pressure in the final stretch. Panama held firm with one player less and, in the final minutes, also suffered the sending-off of Steven Domínguez, ending the match under high tension.
With this victory, Panama will play everything against Argentina in the final round, where they must win to secure a medal. Bolivia, meanwhile, is relegated to competing for fourth place in the tournament.
