JSJ Panama 2026

The second day of swimming at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026 was once again a high level showcase, with multiple South American records and major athletes further establishing themselves in the pool.

The session began with the 100m backstroke, where Cecilia Dieleke in the women’s event and Davi Vallim in the men’s event broke the South American record and won the gold medal. Then, in the women’s 200m breaststroke, Rayssa de Souza set a new South American record, while in the men’s event the gold went to Kauã Santos.

In freestyle, Agostina Hein once again stood out in the women’s category by breaking another South American record, while Lucas de Dos Santos also set a new mark in the men’s event. The action continued with the 50m butterfly, where Sophia de Andrade took gold in the women’s race, and Celso Luis Ferreira did the same in the men’s race, also with a record.

In the team events, Argentina excelled in the women’s 4×100 medley relay, led by Agostina Hein, also achieving a South American record. Finally, Brazil closed the day in dominant fashion by winning the 4×100 relay and breaking yet another South American record.

The overall balance of the day leaves Brazil and Argentina as the main protagonists, in a session where records fell one after another. In addition, Venezuela had a strong performance by earning bronze in both medley relay events, confirming the high competitive level in Panama 2026.
