At just 17 years old, born in Campana, Agostina Hein has conquered swimming in her home country Argentina and on the international stage.

Agostina Hein won a total of 10 medals and made the notes of the national anthem of Panama ring out 9 times With her great strength, technique, and talent, she dominated the pool at the Aquatic Complex of the Luis Carlos “Matador” Tejada Hansell High Performance Center.

On the Panamanian isthmus, Agostina Hein stood at the top of the podium, winning gold in the Women’s 100m Butterfly, Women’s 200m Butterfly, Women’s 200m Freestyle, Women’s 200m Individual Medley, Women’s 400m Freestyle, Women’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay, Women’s 4 x 100m Medley Relay, Women’s 800m Freestyle, and the Mixed 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay, breaking multiple personal and competition records.

Grateful to Panama, Hein expressed the following: “Honestly, I’m very happy and very grateful to Panama and its entire organization.” A fast and highly committed athlete to her discipline, she added: “I’m really focused on what I came here to do. The level of commitment I have to myself can sometimes feel like a heavy burden because of the pressure, but I feel that nowadays it doesn’t come from a bad place. So I enjoy what I do: swimming and improving my times. I understand that sometimes it doesn’t happen, but I enjoy it, and it makes me very happy that people have expectations of me because it means I’m doing something right.

The Olympic athlete won 9 gold medals and 1 silver in the Mixed 4 x 100m Medley Relay. With this, “The Golden Mermaid” reaffirmed her total dominance in women’s swimming.
