
Under a radiant sun, athletes full of dreams and talent, and a crowd that did not disappoint, this April 22 the athletics track at Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez Stadium hosted this discipline at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.
On this first day of athletics at the Irving Saladino Sports City, the medal table in this discipline is led by Ecuador with 2 gold medals and 2 silver, totaling 4 medals; Brazil with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze for a total of 6 medals; and in the top 3, Argentina with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.
On this occasion, Guyana added its second bronze medal, with Ebo McNeil in the men’s 1500m.
