3×3 basketball is at another level in Panama 2026 and has already defined its semifinals after an intense and emotional day at the IV South American Youth Games.
In the women’s competition, Chile was dominant and defeated Panama 21-1. Argentina and Bolivia played an exciting match that went to overtime a format in 3×3 where the game is decided by the first team to score two points and it ended 9-7 in favor of the “Albiceleste.” Brazil defeated Colombia 19-10 in a closer game than the score suggests, while Paraguay comfortably beat Venezuela 21-13. The semifinals will be: Chile vs Argentina and Brazil vs Paraguay.
In the men’s competition, Panama earned a key victory over Chile (15-10), Uruguay dominated Suriname (21-5), Paraguay surprised Brazil with a solid 17-11 win, and Venezuela closed with a comfortable victory over Colombia (21-8). The semifinals are set: Panama vs Paraguay and Uruguay vs Venezuela.
With the semifinals now confirmed, 3×3 enters its decisive stage, with teams performing at a high level and matches promising maximum intensity in the fight for medals.
