The torch continues to ignite the spirit of Panama on the road to the South American Youth Games 2026. After its stop in Veraguas, the South American flame arrived in the province of Los Santos, in a day full of excitement and pride that made it clear these Games will be AT ANOTHER LEVEL.
The Santeño region welcomed the torch with a special event in Playa Venao, where the main protagonist of the relay was Verónica Correa, a standout and multi-medal winning bodyboarder, who had the honor of carrying the South American flame.
The event also featured the presence of Antón, the official mascot of the South American Youth Games Panama 2026, who accompanied the route and became one of the main attractions of the day.
The relay brought together important figures of national sport, including multi-medalist Edwin Núñez in bodyboarding, as well as young prospects from Team Panama for the Games. Among them were Zuriel Leguísamo in swimming, Jonathan Joel Castillo in athletics (800 meters and 4×100 relay), and Franklin Rodríguez in the 100 and 200 meters.
With the warmth of its people, the energy of its athletes, and the joy brought by Antón, Los Santos experienced an unforgettable relay that reaffirms the country’s commitment to this major event. The torch continues its journey, carrying a clear message: Panama is preparing for South American Youth Games 2026 that promise to be, without a doubt, AT ANOTHER LEVEL.
