Panama took the first official step toward the 2026 South American Youth Games with the Delegation Registration Meeting, marking the beginning of the organizational process on home soil.
The session took place on Tuesday, March 7, at the Suramerican Village, where the host delegation opened the process at 9:00 a.m., lasting approximately two hours. During the meeting, the entire accreditation system was reviewed, and the participation of 246 Panamanian athletes was confirmed, along with 31 mission officials and 39 team officials, all of whom will be part of Team Panama’s delegation.
After 50 years without hosting an event of this magnitude, Panama is preparing for a historic occasion, aiming to leave a mark both locally and across the continent.
Words from Raquel Pasos, Director of Services for the 2026 South American Youth Games Panama:
“We are very pleased to welcome our country as the first National Olympic Committee with which we began these meetings. It was quite successful; we are now finalizing details in the registration of some athletes. We are truly very pleased with our country’s participation and, above all, with having a delegation of a very good size for these Games.”
