Swimming was the main highlight of the fourth day of competition at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, with a vibrant session that combined records, outstanding performances, and a very high competitive level from the very first events.

From the early morning, the heats set the tone for what would become an intense day in the pool. Names such as Agostina Hein and Brazil’s representatives Davi Vallim, Kauã Santos, and Rayssa de Souza began to stand out and assert their dominance, foreshadowing highly demanding finals.

The show reached its peak during the evening session. In the 800 meter freestyle, Agostina Hein delivered a dominant performance to claim the gold medal. Minutes later, she returned to the top of the podium after winning the women’s 200 meter individual medley, while in the men’s event the victory went to Brazil’s Davi Vallim.

The 100 meter freestyle produced tight finishes and shared celebrations: Matías Chaillou was crowned champion in the men’s category, and Angelina Solari did the same in the women’s. Brazilian dominance was once again evident in the 100 meter breaststroke, with Kauã Santos taking gold in the men’s race and Rayssa de Souza repeating the feat in the women’s.

The final individual events once again featured Davi Vallim as a central figure. The Brazilian completed a perfect day by winning gold in the 50 meter backstroke, confirming his strong form in Panama. In the women’s race, Cecilia Dieleke took the gold medal in the same event.

The day concluded with the mixed 4×100 meter freestyle relay, where Argentina claimed the gold medal and put the finishing touch on an unforgettable day in the pool.

With multiple champions, standout performances, and a high competitive level, swimming reaffirmed its importance at Panama 2026, delivering one of the most intense and memorable days of the South American Youth Games.
