
Panama City, Panama. – Judoka from Veraguas, Kristine Jiménez, visited the facilities of the Organizing Committee of the 4th South American Youth Games Panama 2026, where she learned about the progress being made in the planning of the multi-sport event.
Jiménez, a two-time Olympic athlete, two-time Pan American Games medalist, and gold medalist at the Central American and Caribbean Games, toured the facilities and spent time with the Organizing Committee’s work team.
During her visit, the athlete highlighted the work currently underway in organizing the Games.
“It makes me very happy to be here visiting the facilities on the road to the South American Youth Games. I truly want to congratulate you, because you can see the tremendous work you are doing to ensure these Games turn out perfectly.”
The judoka also emphasized the impact the event will have on future generations.
“The most important thing is for our youth to be able to practice much more sport, and for those who watch this event to feel inspired so that in the future we can have even more high-performance athletes.”
Currently, Jiménez is focused on her preparation for the qualification tournament for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, which will be held in Panama City in mid-April, with the participation of the national judo team.
“This month we have several events here in Panama, and one of the most important is the qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games. We’re very excited because the preparation has been quite good.”
The athlete also shared a message for the young competitors who will take part in the South American Youth Games.
“Taking part in Games like these is always an incredible experience. You learn so much, take away memories for a lifetime, and truly enjoy the atmosphere.”
Finally, Jiménez encouraged young athletes to make the most of the opportunity.
“Best of luck to our youth athletes. Enjoy this experience to the fullest, because the Games are also meant to be enjoyed. Panama 2026 is On Another Level.”
