
With great joy and enthusiasm, the torch of the South American Youth Games Panama 2026 was carried this March 29 directly to the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca, a corner of Panama rich in cultural heritage, traditions, tourist attractions, and where sport continues to grow stronger at every stage.
Along the relay route, specifically in Llano Tugrí, the capital of the comarca, a beautiful rainbow welcomed the athletes born in these privileged lands: Juan Pineda in soccer, Ashley Belén Jiménez in table tennis, Fátima Girón Montezuma in athletics, Adrián Gallardo in athletics, and Anthony Santos in athletics.
The community representative expressed the following during the reception: “The time you have dedicated to coming to the capital of the comarca and sharing your vision and commitment to development and the movement inspires our comarca to dream big. This visit leaves a meaningful mark on us and motivates us to move forward, promoting sport as a tool for social transformation we are at another level.”

This is the first historic edition of the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, which will take place from April 12 to 25 and will bring together more than 2,000 athletes from 15 countries in Panama, who will arrive with suitcases full of dreams and the clear goal of reaching the podium at the South American Games in this Olympic Cycle 2025–2028.

The next stop for the torch will be this Monday, March 30, in Santiago de Veraguas, and it will continue its journey across the country, where national athletes await it to carry on the relay because at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026, we are “At another level.”
