
One of the sports that will be present at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026 is Karate, a combat sport that will feature in the fourth edition of the JSJ, to be held in Panama City from April 12 to 25, 2026. The event will bring together 15 delegations seeking glory for their countries.
The matches will take place at the Combat Center of the Luis “Matador” Tejada High-Performance Center (CAR), located in the Juan Díaz district, Province of Panama.
The competition format will be divided into two categories:
- 4 Male athletes: Kata, -61 kg, -68 kg, +68 kg
- 4 Female athletes: Kata, -53 kg, -59 kg, +59 kg
Kata (Forms): Individual or team execution of technical sequences representing combat situations. It evaluates technical precision, power, balance, rhythm, and control.
Kumite (Combat): Direct confrontation. It values effectiveness, timing, distance, and sportsmanship.
The events will be held on Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the CAR.
On Thursday, April 23, and Friday, April 24, competitions will run from 9:00 AM to 4:10 PM, again at the CAR. Finally, on Saturday, April 25, the last day of competition will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM, followed by the awards ceremony that same afternoon, marking the conclusion of the competition and of the South American Youth Games, which will be #OnAnotherLevel.
