
The national delegation officially presented the athletes who will represent the country at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, highlighting Desire Frías and Raúl Antadilla as the flag bearers who will carry the national pride during the ceremony.
The event took place at the Sheraton Hotel, where 247 young athletes gathered. They will compete in 23 sports disciplines, taking part in a total of 160 events in this major continental competition. The Panamanian delegation is preparing with the firm goal of leaving the country’s name at the highest level.
Among all the talents, Desire Frías stands out as a key figure in karate and one of the strongest contenders for a gold medal, while Raúl Antadilla, a standout swimmer, will aim to dominate in the water and reach the top of the podium.
Both athletes were selected as flag bearers following a vote held during the first Ordinary General Assembly of the year, in recognition of their effort, discipline, and sporting potential. Their designation symbolizes the leadership of a generation that takes on the responsibility of representing the country “At another level.”
More than just carrying the flag, Frías and Antadilla embody the dream of an entire nation. With passion, commitment, and national pride, the Panamanian delegation is ready to face the South American Youth Games 2026 and write a new chapter in the country’s sporting history.
