Weightlifting is set to be one of the main attractions at the 2026 South American Youth Games in Panama, with competitions in both men’s and women’s categories from Wednesday the 22nd to Saturday the 25th at the Tierra de Campeones–Atheyna Bylon venue, all AT THE NEXT LEVEL.
The competition will begin with the athlete declaring the lowest weight, and the bar will always increase, with no possibility of decreasing, ensuring a highly demanding dynamic in every attempt. At the end of each session, the top performers will be awarded. The event will feature high-level equipment. A total of 11 countries are expected to compete, with around 89 athletes; the final number will be confirmed later. Over four days of competition, weightlifting will bring together the continent’s rising talents in a setting prepared for outstanding performances.
With young talent, international standards, and a competition that leaves no room for error, weightlifting is shaping up to be one of the most exciting sports at Panama 2026, ready to be experienced AT THE NEXT LEVEL at Tierra de Campeones.
