Last night, prior to the start of competitions, the Official Technical Meeting was held with delegates and team officials from the participating nations in the surfing discipline. This meeting marks the final administrative and logistical step before the highly anticipated debut at Playa Venao in the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, scheduled to formally begin tomorrow.

During the session, the organizing committee authorities and team officials reviewed critical points to ensure a smooth sporting event and the safety of the athletes, including:
Technical Considerations and Technical Race: The judges’ evaluation criteria were defined, as well as the specifications for the technical race events, ensuring that all team officials are clear on the competition rules and the scoring system.
Field of Play (FOP): The official presentation of the “field of play” took place, demarcating the launch zones, the competition area, and the restricted zones for support boats. It was confirmed that the wave conditions are optimal for the start of the day’s events.
Medical Care and Water Safety: The immediate response protocol was presented. The event will have a deployment of rescuers specializing in jet skis and a field medical team ready to respond to any eventuality on the water or sand.
Competition Logistics: The call schedule and the heat order for the first day of competition were reviewed.

With security logistics in place, involving 12 national police officers, and the competition fully validated by the delegations, everything is ready for the athletes to take to the water tomorrow in what promises to be one of the sports that will be #OnAnotherLevel.
