The Paraguay U-15 women’s national team defeated Colombia 3-0 on Matchday 2 of the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.

In a match where the Paraguayan side showed its greatest strength from set pieces to open the scoring in the 7th minute, Luciana Navero was shown a straight red card in the 28th minute. However, that did not stop the Paraguayan team, and despite playing with 10 players, it took just two more minutes to extend the lead with a goal from captain Sofía Cabrera, who took advantage of a defensive mistake by the Colombian side to put her team ahead on the scoreboard in the second half.

In the second half of the story, the third goal came from Analía Arias in the 54th minute.

The “Cafetera” national team, which did not have its best match, paid the price for defensive errors. In the final stretch, they tried to make a stand in the opponent’s half, taking control of the ball through their captain, Isabella Aponte, who encouraged and motivated the team until the last minute of the match.

However, Paraguay’s defensive discipline and determination crushed Colombia’s hopes and led Paraguay to glory.

The team coached by Brazilian head coach Gustavo Roma now has 3 points, while the Colombian side, led by Alejandro Camacho, has recorded two defeats.
