On the morning of Thursday, April 16, Argentine swimmer Agostina Hein made history once again at the IV South American Youth Games by setting a new record in the 200-meter individual medley, with a time of 2:11.94 at the Aquatic Complex of the Luis Carlos “Matador” Tejada Hansell High Performance Center.
Argentina’s flag bearer demonstrated her dominance from the start of the race, controlling each segment with authority and maintaining a strong pace that allowed her to clearly distance herself from the rest of her competitors. Her time of 2 minutes and 11 seconds not only secured the victory but also established a new South American record in the category, consolidating her status as the favorite in the tournament.
With this performance, Hein writes her name into the history of the IV South American Games Panama 2026 and reaffirms her excellent form in swimming, making it clear that she is one of the standout athletes to watch in the future of the sport.
