
The Venezuelan women’s national team defeated Colombia 1-0 by the narrowest margin, securing their third consecutive win with a perfect record in the group stage. They will now aim to win the gold medal in the grand final.
After the victory, Venezuela’s head coach Dayana FrĂas highlighted the work of her players:
“More than happiness, I recognize the effort of the players, who faced a Colombia team that came out to defend, but we knew how to take advantage of our team’s qualities to solve the match.”
Venezuela defender Karla Alfonso expressed her joy and excitement after the win:
“There is always that feeling of victory and it’s very emotional. The match was tight, but as a team together with coach Dayana we knew how to handle it.”
Looking ahead to the final match, the defender stated:
“Since we arrived, we were focused on finishing first, and in the next match we will go out with everything.”
Venezuela will face the second-place team from the group in the final, which will be decided between Panama and Paraguay. Meanwhile, Colombia will play for the bronze medal.
