
At just 17 years old, Agostina Hein made history by winning three gold medals at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026, following a brilliant performance in the women’s 800m freestyle, where she set a record of 8:11.94. In that race, she was clearly superior, showcasing remarkable speed and strength, completing the splits with powerful 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, and 50m backstroke segments on her way to gold in Panama.
Later, Hein once again wrote her name in golden letters after becoming champion in the women’s 200m individual medley, breaking the record with a time of 2:10.82. With this performance, Hein broke her own record set at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.
The Olympic athlete, born in Campana and who represented Argentina at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, made history on April 16. It is important to highlight that she arrived in Panama with a time of 8:45.08, and there was no barrier that could stop her in the pool.
Her records were broken across the senior South American level, national records, and the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.
Agostina Hein also became champion in the 4x100m mixed relay alongside Máximo Aguilar, Matías Chaillou, Malena Santillán, and Agostina Hein.
The Argentine athlete made the national anthem of Argentina resonate three times at the Aquatic Complex of the Luis “Matador” Tejada Hansell High Performance Center in Panama City
