The men’s triathlon

was one of the most demanding events of the day at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, where Chile claimed the gold medal after a strong performance.

Raimundo Vicente San Martín Naranjo secured the victory for Chile with a time of 57:32, setting the pace in a very tight competition from start to finish. The silver medal went to Brazil’s Alejandro Juanuk, who crossed the finish line in 57:49, while the bronze also went to Brazil, with Eduardo Staniascki Gonçalves recording a time of 57:51.

Just off the podium was Venezuela’s Aaron Jesús Hernández Morales with 57:52, followed by Chile’s Enrique Pau. Further behind finished Arturo Maximiliano Peching San Román (Peru), Jerónimo Vargas Moreno (Colombia), and Agustín Wendler Kossmann (Argentina), in a race that remained intense until the very end.

With this result, Chile celebrates a key gold medal in triathlon, in a high-level day where Brazil also stood out by placing two athletes on the podium.
