Fifth day of the South American Youth Games: everything you need to know
Friday, April 17 promises to be a key day at the IV South American Youth Games (JSJ) Panama 2026, with a packed schedule starting early and several sports entering decisive stages.
Activity begins at 8:00 a.m. with men’s flag football, followed by the women’s triathlon at 8:30 a.m., a discipline in which medals will be decided. At 9:00 a.m., men’s archery begins, while swimming an event that is always a highlight takes place from 9:30 a.m. in both men’s and women’s categories. Gymnastics and mixed table tennis are also added in the morning, with the latter being the stage where the gold medal will be decided.
Flag football continues with an intense schedule in both men’s and women’s divisions, with standout matchups such as Argentina vs Paraguay, Panama vs Brazil, and Brazil vs Venezuela, among others. At the same time, futsal becomes highly important during the day, as medals will be awarded in both categories, increasing competitive tension.
Outdoor football also features important matches such as Paraguay vs Bolivia and Panama vs Argentina, the latter scheduled for the evening. In the afternoon, women’s archery and more flag football matches maintain the pace, while women’s futsal completes its participation in a decisive day.
Action continues into the night with men’s boxing starting at 4:00 p.m., a new swimming session at 6:00 p.m., and another key women’s flag football match between Venezuela and Panama.
With medals on the line in triathlon, table tennis, and futsal, the day is shaping up to be one of the most decisive of the Games, where several athletes and delegations will be looking to reach the podium at Panama 2026.
