JSJ Panama 2026

The women’s triathlon delivered excitement from start to finish at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, with Ecuador taking the gold medal in a highly demanding competition.

Manuela Ortega Arteaga was crowned champion after stopping the clock at 1:06:04, leading an intense and well-managed race. The silver medal went to Colombia’s Catalina Moreno Velasco, who finished in 1:06:37, while the bronze was claimed by Venezuela’s María Lourdes Peralta Perozo with a time of 1:06:52

Brazil’s Luisa Vilha Ribas (1:07:58) finished just outside the podium, followed by Argentina’s Emma Scliar (1:08:12) and Federica Carletto (1:09:05) Further back in the standings were Julieta Waltemath (Chile), María José Tilano Rivas (Colombia), and Renata Valentina Oña Paredes (Ecuador). Panama’s Alessa Ayala rounded out the top 10 with a time of 1:13:41

With this result, Ecuador celebrates an outstanding victory in the women’s triathlon, on a day where endurance made the difference at Panama 2026
