Swimming shined once again at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026, with a day packed with finals, podium finishes, and several South American Youth Records (SAYR)

In the 1500 meters, gold went to Cauã Lopes, followed by Thiago Pizziani (silver) and Mateo Mayor (bronze)

In the women’s 100 meter butterfly, Agostina Hein took the gold, Laila Chain the silver, and Joice Otero the bronze, also setting a South American Youth Record.

In the men’s 100 meter butterfly, Davi Vallim won gold, followed by Celso Ferreira (silver) and Matías Chaillou (bronze).

In the women’s 200 meter backstroke, Malena Santillán claimed gold, Cecilia Dieleke took silver, and María Krupacs earned bronze. In the men’s event, Vallim once again reached the top of the podium, followed by Ciro Conrad (silver) and Matías Ramírez (bronze)

In the women’s 50 meter breaststroke, Stefany Costa won gold, Rayssa de Souza silver, and Victoria Edgar bronze. In the men’s event, Kauã Santos took gold with a South American Youth Record, followed by local swimmer Raúl Antadilla, who earned silver, and Juan Diego León (bronze)

In the relays, Argentina won gold and set a South American Youth Record in the women’s freestyle relay, while Brazil did the same in the men’s relay, also breaking the record

With well-defined podiums and historic marks, swimming continues to deliver high level performances in Panama 2026, with Brazil and Argentina as the main protagonists.
