Day 8 of the competition: Everything you need to know

Sunday, April 19 marks the eighth day of competition at the Panama 2026 South American Youth Games, featuring a packed schedule with finals, semifinals, and key events across several sports.

The day begins early at 8:00 a.m. with the mixed triathlon, a demanding event expected to deliver high intensity and strong competition right from the start.

Later, at 9:30 a.m., swimming takes center stage in both male and female categories, with new finals continuing to shape the medal table in the pool.

From midday onward, flag football becomes one of the main attractions. Men’s action begins at 11:45 a.m followed by semifinals at 1:00 p.m., a crucial phase in the race toward medals. In the women’s bracket, competition starts at 2:00 p.m., while men’s field football (soccer) also enters its decisive stage at the same time.

The intensity continues in the afternoon with additional men’s flag football matches at 3:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., keeping the competitive pressure high throughout the day.

In the evening session, swimming returns at 6:00 p.m. with more finals for both men and women. At the same time, women’s flag football continues, while men’s field football closes out the day with a match at 7:00 p.m.

With decisive events, teams fighting for podium positions, and the medal standings constantly shifting, Sunday stands out as one of the most intense days of the schedule, highlighting the competitive level and youthful spirit that define the Panama 2026 South American Youth Games.
