The Emilio Royo Stadium hosted the Flag Football men’s and women’s semifinal matches on April 19 as part of the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026
In the men’s category, Panama vs Paraguay and Argentina vs Brazil competed for a place in the final. Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Venezuela vs Brazil faced off for a ticket to the grand final, where the host nation was already waiting after qualifying directly by winning all 4 of its matches, earning a total of 12 points.



Men’s Semifinal 1: Panama 39-0 Uruguay
In the first semifinal, Panama opened the scoring with Juan Viscencini, and Diego Cedeño added the extra point Ethan Díaz contributed with a touchdown. Uruguay tried to generate some offense, but the defense managed to intercept passes and force incompletions. Diego Cedeño added another score and also secured an additional point.
The first half ended 20-0 in favor of the hosts. Finally, Joseph Vázquez threw a long pass from the 40 yard line, and Juan Silvestre made a spectacular catch to extend the lead with an extra point. In this way, Panama defeated Uruguay 39-0 and advanced to the gold medal final.
Men’s Semifinal 2: Argentina 0-43 Brazil

Women’s Semifinal: Venezuela 26-18 Brazil
Venezuela defeated Brazil in the Flag Football semifinal and will compete for the gold medal against the host nation, Panama.
Panama qualified directly to the final after going undefeated in its 4 matches, earning a total of 12 points.
The finals will be played today, starting with the bronze medal match at 2:30 p.m., the men’s final at 3:45 p.m., and the women’s final at 5:00 p.m. (Panama time)
