With the iconic Estadio Juan Demóstenes Arosemena as the venue, baseball began its historic participation today in the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026. This marks the first time that the “King of Sports” is part of the official program of this continental event, reaffirming the host country’s commitment to excellence in youth sports.

This Monday’s opening day marked the beginning of the round-robin stage, which will run through April 24, where six nations are aiming to reach the top of the podium: Panama, Curaçao, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru.

Day 1 Results:


Argentina 2 vs 7 Curaçao
In the first qualifying round of men’s baseball, Curaçao defeated Argentina 7-2. With this win, the Caribbean team secures its first victory of the tournament. Their next opponent will be Brazil on Tuesday, April 21.

Colombia 11 – 5 Brazil
Colombia earned its first win in baseball, defeating Brazil at the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Stadium. On matchday 2, they will face Peru this Tuesday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. (Panama time).

Peru 2 – 13 Panama
The hosts made their home field count and dominated Peru. This Tuesday, April 21, they will face Argentina in the third game of the day at 2:00 p.m. (Panama time).

After the regular phase, the teams finishing in third and fourth place will compete for the bronze medal on Saturday, April 25 at 8:00 a.m. (Panama time), while the top two teams will face off for the gold medal at 11:00 a.m. (Panama time).
