On Tuesday, April 21, the Badminton Quarterfinals were held at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026 at ITSE
The closest match was the men’s singles clash between Brazil and Peru, which was decided in three sets. In the first set, Peru took the advantage 23-21. In the second set, Brazil won 21-9. In the third set, in an exciting finish, Peru secured the victory 21-15, lifting the Peruvian crowd that cheered from start to finish.
In the women’s singles, Colombia and Venezuela settled everything in the third set in 32 minutes, with a victory for Venezuela’s Bárbara Lamas, who defeated Juliana Castaño 2-1 on Court 2.
To top it off, in mixed doubles, Peru and Brazil delivered a great performance on Court 2, with Guillermo Buendía and Sofía Junco winning 2-1 against Brazil’s Teixeira Fhelipe and Iha Vivian in a closely contested match that lasted 58 minutes.
