JSJ Panama 2026

Taekwondo opened its participation in the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026 with an outstanding day in the Poomsae event, held at the Combat Center of the Irving Saladino Sports City.

In the women’s category, Venezuelan athlete Nancy Haidar won the gold medal after securing the final with a score of 8.366. Brazil’s Anna Gonçalves took the silver, while the bronze medals completed a highly competitive podium in a very close contest.

In the men’s division, the Peruvian representative also claimed gold with a score of 8.366. The silver medal went to Ecuador’s Iker Yangari, while the bronze medals were awarded to Marcelo Rodríguez and Yangari himself.

In the mixed poomsae event, Peru took the gold medal with a score of 8.333, surpassing Brazil, which earned silver. The bronze medals were shared between Peru and Brazil, closing a highly competitive day.

Thus ended the first day of taekwondo, with Peru, Venezuela, and Brazil standing out as the main protagonists in a discipline that showed a very high level from its opening at Panama 2026.
