
Tennis had a full day of action at the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026, with competition taking place both in the morning and evening, as several singles and doubles qualifiers were decided at the Fred Maduro Tennis Center.
In the morning session, the singles quarterfinals were played. In the women’s draw, Camila Rodero (Chile), Yleymi Muelle (Peru), Sol Larraya, and Sofía Meabe (Argentina) advanced. In the men’s draw, Nicolás Baena (Peru), Pedro Chabalgoity (Brazil), Benjamín Chelia, and Dante Pagani (Argentina) qualified, shaping a strong lineup heading into the semifinals.
In the afternoon, doubles took center stage. In men’s doubles, the Brazilian pair Chabalgoity/Storck secured a solid win over Venezuela (6-4, 6-4) to advance to the final. In mixed doubles, Venezuela and Brazil earned first-round victories, while Argentina dominated Panama in the quarterfinals. Uruguay also delivered one of the comebacks of the day, defeating Peru in a super tie break (11-9). In women’s doubles, Argentina advanced to the final with Larraya/Meabe, while Chile also booked its spot after defeating Brazil.
With these results, tennis enters its lative phase in Panama 2026, with semifinals and finals now taking shape and several delegations positioning themselves as favorites in the race for medals.
